Payments will be confirmed by a dividend payment advice. Any instructions received will remain in force unless amended or cancelled in writing.

Dividend Reinvestment Plan

As an alternative to receiving cash dividends, shareholders may elect, by application in writing, to participate in the Company's Dividend Reinvestment Plan. Contact the Share Registry for a copy of the plan booklet and application form.

The Crane Group Dividend Reinvestment Plan is a convenient way for shareholders to reinvest all or part of their dividends to acquire additional ordinary shares in the Company automatically with no transaction costs and at a discount (currently 2.5%) from market price. The latest date for receipt of election notices (including notices to vary the particulars of participation or to terminate participation in the Plan) to take effect for a particular dividend, is the Record Date for that dividend.

CHESS (Clearing House Electronic Sub-register System)

The Australian Securities Exchange commenced the phased introduction of CHESS, the centralised electronic clearing, settlement and transfer system for trading securities without share certificates, in September 1994. This system speeds settlement of share transactions by eliminating paper transfers and share certificates and replacing them electronically. Crane's shares became CHESS-approved in May 1995. Shareholders who wish to hold their shares in uncertificated form on the CHESS sub-register are able to do so by entering into a sponsoring agreement with a stockbroker. Shareholders who prefer to have share certificates for security or other reasons are able to maintain their holdings in certificated form and receive certificates when shares are purchased.

A booklet explaining CHESS in more detail may be obtained from the Share Registry.
